“It was time for someone to publish a real study with sharpies. I loved it from the moment I saw
it live and now I’m happy that the magic community can love it as much as I do!”
– Juan Colás (signed with a sharpie).
“Milo’s magic looks like visual art in his hands. This is the first time I’ve wanted to sit down and
really learn some amazing Sharpie based magic.”
– Lloyd Barnes
“In 2016 I saw Milo win 1st place at a magic convention using the sharpie techniques explained
on this download. I highly recommend it!”
– Michael Ammar
“I love sharpie magic. This is one of the best sharpie tricks I have ever seen. It’s super visual and
even more importantly super commercial. If you are going to have a Sharpie with you anyway, why wouldn’t you pick up Sharpie
Evolutions? It’s KILLER!”
– Craig Petty
In this video download Mago Milo (Andrés Milonás) explains all of his Sharpie magic
techniques, routines and variations that he has created over ten years.
Each routine has a performance for camera, a spoken and detailed explanation, a live
performance with audience, and a slow-motion video from an exposed angle.
Sharpie Evolutions includes:
- Full Live Performance: A three-minute routine using Sharpies, and a coin presented
live at a Gala Show on a Magic Convention. - Introduction and References: Milo tells his story of why and how he started learning
Sharpie magic. Then he tells a list of magicians and material that have inspire him (on
the rest of the video every technique explained has the correct credit to the original
author, as well on the final credits). - One Sharpie Techniques: Different ways of appearing and vanishing a Sharpie. From
the classic Flip Stick techniques to other new approaches as the Clap Vanish and
Fingertips Production. - Sharpie Transpo : A Sharpie seems to teleport visually from one hand to another
several times. - Sharpie and Coin Transformations: A sequence of five transformations between a coin
and a Sharpie. - One Hand Sharpie and Coin Transformations: Using just one hand, a Sharpie
transforms to a coin and then back to a Sharpie. A very difficult technique for those
who like to practice sleight of hand with dedication. - Pen-Cap-Coin-Mouth: Based on the classic plot of magic in which a coin gets inside the
cap of a pen, as well as on Gregory Wilson’s “Recap”, Milo presents this three-phases
routine adding another level of complexity: objects teleport to the mouth. - Sharpie thru mouth : As an extra detail, Milo decided to share this curious gag in which
a Sharpie penetrates through the chin of the magician. It is based on David Stone’s
“Moorea Straw” but performed with a Sharpie. A good addition to the Sharpie through
nose gag. - Inter-changes A sequence of five visual transformations between a Sharpie and a
pencil (or any similar object). - Theory, advice and ideas : Milo gives general advice for presenting these routines in
front of audiences. As well, he shares some ideas of various objects that you can use
instead of a Sharpie, motivating you to construct you own authentic routine that better
fits your style of magic. As theory, Milo explains his understanding of the differences
between the concepts of “everyday person / stage person / character” which influence
the decision of the objects we use in our magic acts.
